Travel Insurance and Flight Info

Hey everyone!  I thought I would share a link with you all for a site that offers comparison quotes for travel insurance.  http://www.squaremouth.com/travel-insurance/index.pl.  The rates and benefits offered on the site are much better than the amounts quoted by Carnival and will cover your flights and hotel too, where Carnival's just covers the cruise.

Most of the bigger airlines are offering flights for the times we will be traveling.  However the smaller and less expensive airlines are not offering reservations through our travel dates.  Keep checking them though, traveling during the holidays is going to mean you probably need to book well in advance!

Two free Days?!!!!!

So this morning I got a suspicious email that came from a wierd email address with carnival.com.  I was reluctant to open because there was no message, only and attachment and the subject line reading - IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT YOUR CRUISE - Itinerary Change.  So instead of opening the attachment I went to Carnival.com and checked our itinerary and sure enough, it was different!  There was a new departure date of 12/23/2010, but the same return date of 1/1/2011.  I figured then it was safe to open the attachment.

The attachment was a letter from a VP of Carnival stating that they had added two days to this itinerary and added an additional day at sea and the port of Nassau.  The letter also stated that those that had booked the cruise prior to this change would have same price guarantee on the cost of the cruise AND government taxes and fees.  This is great for us IF it works for everyone's schedules.  We don't have to do anything if this works, however, if we need to rethink this then we will have to contact Carnival to make changes.  It is a real good thing none of us have been able to book our flights yet!  By the way...we should be able to book those on Thursday.

If everyone can let me know if this new itinerary will work for them or not I can get the ball rolling on some other stuff.

The new itinerary would have us departing on December 23rd at 4:00.  We would be in Nassau on Christmas Eve from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm, then at sea Christmas day and the next day, then the rest of the cruise will proceed as originally scheduled.
